Build

The Next Section of the Hull

As I have been doing through this build, I airbrushed and sealed this Hull section with Vallejo Anti-Fouling Red 71.442 and Vallejo Satin Varnish 70.522 acrylics paints:

Step 1

Install two (2) BM screws into these holes of the Next Section of the Hull (Port Side).

We will eventually receive a magnetic hull panel that will cover the engine room opening. As die-cast metal (Zamak) is non-magnetic, these iron screws will give the magnets of the panel something to hold on to. This is also your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:

Step 2

Retrieve your Hull assembly from Issue 80. Fit this Next Section of the Hull (Port Side) to the lower left keel, aligning the forward mounting tabs to the matching posts of the existing Hull section as shown:

Secure this Hull into place with two (2) LM screws.

The Allen Key for this screw was supplied with Issue 15. However, I have been using a stubby bit ratchet with a 2mm Hex bit to make tightening these screws much quicker and easier.

Thoughts

We have finally reached the engine room area of our hull. This means we are quickly approaching the stern and will soon have a full ship!
