As part of my Frosted Windows mod, I use sanded acrylic strips to cover up these portholes:
Retrieve your Hull assembly from the previous issue. Fit the forward end of the Starboard Hull Section to the rear right edge of the existing upper hull and rotate it back into place until the posts align to the mounting tabs, as shown.
This time, I remembered to trim the excess porthole ‘windows’ from around the post of the existing Hull Section. This way, the rounded tab of the new Hull Section can sit flush properly:
I wrote the ’79’ (issue number) on this Hull Section so I knew which was which after painting them:
Secure this Fourth Hull Section into place with four (4) LM screws. If these screws do not fully tighten, use a Washer under the screw.
I did have to use a Washer on the upper screw. The Allen Key for these screws was supplied with Issue 15. However, I have been using a stubby bit ratchet with a 2mm Hex bit to make this easier. This is also your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:
Attaching these new Hull Sections brings Pack 14 to a close. We have nearly reached the reciprocating engine room area of our Titanic build!
