Build

Fourth Section of the Promenade Deck

As before, to help with light blocking, I masked off the interior areas of this Aft Section of the Promenade Deck and airbrushed it with a coat of Vallejo Model Air 71.057 Black and Vallejo Model Air 71.064 Chrome Metallic acrylic paints:

To hide the white plastic around the mounting holes/slots in this Deck, I hand painted them with Vallejo Model Air 71.032 Golden Brown acrylic paint. For example, here are where the Benches will be installed later on:

I also grabbed the rest of the Promenade Deck assembly we have been building and painted in these holes along the sides as well:

Step 1

Test fit the Decking on the Fourth Section of the Promenade Deck. When happy with the fitment, carefully remove the backing paper from the Decking. Then, slowly adhere it into place, making sure to align the holes in this Decking to the matching Deck holes.

Be very gentle with this Decking as it is fragile and can easily snap apart. As with all of my Decking, these pieces were sprayed (on the exposed sticky side) with my 3M 45 General Purpose Spray Adhesive:

Step 2

Retrieve your Promenade Deck assembly from the previous issue. Fit its four rear mounting tabs to the matching posts along the front edge of the Fourth Section of Promenade Deck, as shown.

I went ahead and painted in the rest of the holes on this Aft Deck as well:

Secure these two sections of Promenade Deck together from below with four (4) AP screws:

As the white plastic was showing in the gaps between these Deck sections, I masked them off and painted them with the same Golden Brown paint:

Thoughts

And just like that, our Promenade Deck is complete! We can now move on to adding details to this Deck.
