Fitting the Anchor Winch
Step 1
Unwind 6 cm of the ‘cable’ string from the Anchor Winch.
This 6 cm distance is measured from the black spool of the Anchor Winch to the end of the metal clasp:
Push this Anchor Winch down into the Base for Winch Housing.
Make sure the free end of the ‘cable’ string of the Anchor Winch is routed through this slot (arrow below), as shown:
Cover this Base assembly with the Cover for Winch Housing, aligning the screw holes as shown:
Secure these parts together with two (2) AP screws:
Step 2
Retrieve your Hull assembly from Issue 21. Fit this Anchor Winch assembly over the four matching posts at this location.
The opening of the Anchor Winch with the exposed ‘cable’ string should be facing towards the bow (forward), as shown:
Secure the Anchor Winch assembly into place with four (4) AM screws.
This is your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:
Thoughts
This Anchor Winch is a spring-loaded self-retracting mechanism. It appears that we will be able to manually lower the main anchors and this winch will raise them back up.
